Description
El LHC Por qué necesitamos el LHC? Debido a que nuestra comprensión actual del Universo es incompleta y muy limitada por nuestra tecnología. Las teorías y descubrimientos de miles de físicos en los siglos pasados han creado una imagen notable de la estructura fundamental de la materia, que se llama el Módelo Estándar de Partículas y Fuerzas. El Módelo Estándar es ya un buen problema para las teorías de la física actuales, que sirve para explicar y predecir exactamente una gran variedad de fenómenos como la Teoría Unificada, etc. Experimentos de alta precisión se han verificado en repetidas ocasiones con sutiles efectos predichos teóricamente. Sin embargo, los físicos saben que no puede ser el final de la historia, ya que deja muchas preguntas sin resolver. En LHC@Home ayudamos a éstos físicos a desentrañar muchos fenómenos fascinantes como la Teoría Unificada.
